The design of this affordable housing
complex was based on the concept of adjoining a new building
to an existing old hotel. After the new building was constructed,
a cost analysis determined it was more efficient to demolish
the existing old hotel and build anew. The units are a mix
of studios, one and two bedroom apartments. Units were designed
for efficient use of space and afford beautiful views of the
city or the Sound to the west. The building is clad in brick
to match the character of the nearby historic downtown area.
The front entry and pediment were designed as a collaboration
between the Architects and a local artist.
